Harvard III AT-6D > Harvard 4KA H-019
C/N 88-15774
Date In : Apr 1947
Date Out : Jan 1961

The H-19 is a Harvard Mk. III (AT-6D) from RAF surplus (ex EZ210) and having been used during the war by the South African Air Force (SAAF) under registration number 7605. It integrates the EPA at Brustem in March 1948. The plane was transported to Kamina by C-119F in January 1954. It is not known exactly when it was painted in its special decoration. It came out of a major IRAN inspection (Inspect & Repair As Necessary) in July 1957 and we can therefore think that this decoration dates from that time. It was seen in 1958 and 1959 in this decoration, but it is certain that by September 1959 it had already been repainted.

As armed version, called Harvard T-6/4KA, the H-19 is integrated into the "Flight Support-Fire". It was sold to the SAAF in January 1961 where it received registration number 7731. It no longer flew there but was erected as a monument in front of the gymnasium at the Swartkop base on one before being stored in 1968 in the depots of the Museum of the SAAF on the same base where he still is.
