Welcome to the Freycinet Peninsula
Welcome to Tasmania's picturesque Freycinet Peninsula. Nestled amongst bushland just north of the renowned Freycinet National Park is this 900m gravel and sand runway. This strip is home to local operators Freycinet Air Tasmania who operate tours in rotorcraft and GA aircraft it also sees flights from Par Avion and occasional private pilots.
Nestled conveniently halfway up Tasmania's East Coast, this airstrip offers a perfect pitstop following a scenic journey from Maria Island. As you fly over the breathtaking landscapes, including iconic sights like Ille Des Phoques and Wineglass Bay, you'll soon find yourself descending over Moulting Lagoon and landing at this unique airstrip.
This package includes scenery improvements for the Friendly Beaches airstrip. This includes custom models of the office and hanger buildings as well as rustic-painted tyres for runway and apron markers. Due to the lack of suitable aerial imagery available for the area, I have used the default Bing imagery and created a second parking/apron area just behind the helipads. I have also hand-placed vegetation and water features around the airstrip, enhancing the ambience and accuracy of the surroundings.
Thanks for downloading! If you find any issues or have requests/suggestions for future sceneries, feel free to get in touch.
