YPPD - PORT HEDLAND INTERNATIONAL, WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Note your sim must be up to date with all world updates installed. You do not need any photogrammetry installed, just the base world updates as I borrow scenery from those resources. This project makes extensive use of the UK2000 Scenery Library which is free in the Marketplace. Please make sure you have it installed.
V 1.0
Yes, the 4 year wait for one of Australia's most requested airfields is finally over! Welcome to Port Hedland International Airport.
Featuring:
- A unique, new terminal.
- Over 500 hand placed objects.
- Seamless texture transitions.
- Handplaced vegetation for miles and miles, nothing is random.
- Fully fenced, to keep out kangaroos.
- Detailed carparks, including quick drop off and pickup, short term and long term parking.
- Roads leading into and out of the airport, with signage and line work.
- Bus terminal with awaiting passengers.
- True to size car rental block.
- Reproduction of the insane, crazy, complicated linework on the main apron. Good luck following them!
- Worn and cracked aprons, with repairs, tire wear and grime.
- Seperate GA apron, buildings and fuel bowsers.
- Lighted helipads, with a heli-start for you chopper pilots.
- Transportation hub and Service Station.
- The old decomissioned Control Tower area and buildings.
- Navigraph-matched taxiways, aprons and parking.
- Edge lights, centre lights and signage.
- Service vehicles and boarding stairs (although these are static for now).
- And much much more.
V 2.0 ( 17 Feb 24 )
Port Hedland is now complete with all surrounding accomodation - including the impressive BHP Port Haven Village, ESS Waypoint Village, Walkabout Hotel/Motel and The Landing Resort. See new screenshots, although I have left the video trailer untouched.
Some fixes and AI improvments were also implemented that were evident in V 1.0. See changelog for those.
If you notice something that I have missed, please report it in the comments section as I usually get to sorting any issues out very quickly.
V 2.1 ( 26 Feb 24 )
Thankfully there was very little wrong with V 2.0, but:
Fixed a windsock that was pointing the wrong way.
Replaced some textures that will greatly reduce the chances of some people reporting them missing due to a popular payware scenery removing them. The replacments will not be noticable as they are practically identical.
Tweaked some AI taxi paths to allow traffic to move around a little better.
V 2.2 ( 21 Apr 24 )
Fixes a missing fence object that I have placed in much of my scenery not realising it was from other freeware and would not have appeared for anyone. Makes a big difference at this airfield around the long term parking area at the back.
HELP ME STOP THE WIFE CHUCKING A TANTRUM:
If you appreciate the work that I have done and it gives you joy, PLEASE consider smashing that Paypal button and donate to the cause, just $5 or $10 or whatever you think is fair. I would love to continue to pump out these near-payware quality airfields for you to all enjoy but I have to justify my time and effort these days to the wife. Help me take her out to dinner or she will put a stop to anymore ''time-wasting" :(
Tip:
Don't forget to reload your Little Navmap scenery library now and then in order to keep your new airfields accurately portrayed within it. This way all your new taxiway designations are updated among other things.
LNM automatically searches through your community folder during the process which runs in the background so you can keep simming.
From the menu bar of LNM: Scenery Library | Load Scenery Library | press Load. When finished, press Use Database.
Instructions:
Unzip and drop into your Community folder.
Enjoy.

Removing SEA was the culprit for the missing terminal building.

Can i ask what program you use to create these?
I used to do sceneries in FS2004 and am contemplating getting back into it.
