GSX PRO ENLK LEKNES AIRPORT PROFILE
Leknes Airport (Norwegian: Leknes lufthavn; IATA: LKN, ICAO: ENLK) is a regional airport serving the town of Leknes and the surrounding areas in the Lofoten archipelago in Nordland county, Norway. The airport is located just outside Leknes in Vestvågøy municipality. The European route E10 highway passes along the east side of the airport. In 2014, Leknes Airport had 101,757 passengers. It is operated by Avinor.
The airport is located approximately 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) from the town center. There are no buses, but taxis are available.
Avinor is planning building a new primary airport to serve Lofoten and possibly also Vesterålen. The region wants to be more attractive on the conference market which would create more job opportunities outside the tourist season, and there is a need to adopt airports to modern aircraft types.
Two locations have been put forward, Gimsøya (68°19′10″N 14°9′30″E) and Hadselsanden (68°25′40″N 14°37′30″E). The former could replace Leknes Airport and Svolvær Airport, the latter could also replace Stokmarknes Airport. As both alternatives imply direct services to Oslo, the leakage to Evenes would be reduced. However weather recordings has shown that Gimsøy, located at the big ocean, is too windy and foggy for an airport.
Therefore, the main option now is to extend the runway and terminal of Leknes airport, considering that Svolvær airport has no room for runway extension. No such project is part of the Norwegian National Transport Plan for 2022–2033.
A large road project, which will reduce the drive time between Svolvær and Evenes by 35 minutes, will be built 2023-2028. This might make Harstad-Evenes Airport airport more attractive than Leknes for travel between Oslo and Svolvær, if Leknes is not extended to full length for jet aircraft.
This Airport Profile was created using BlackBox Simulation – Shorts Regional Premium Edition v1.1.0:
- Shorts 330 PAX
- Shorts 330 Cargo
- Shorts 330 Sherpa
- Shorts 360 PAX
- Shorts 360 Cargo
- Shorts C23A / C23B
All seven Variants have been profiled for each parking slot, there are 4 parking slots associated with this airport profile. Ground Service Equipment have been placed precisely so that when approaching the Belt Loader it aligns perfectly for the baggage handler to place each of the baggage items one right after the other without placing luggage anywhere in-between the gaps of the carts. Most cases you will need to re-align the aircraft once you've spawned onto the parking slots, but not all the time. In some cases it actually puts the aircraft nose wheel in front of the designated spot for the parking slot. If you re-align the aircraft and it is quite a ways from the box or the line then reset your scenery and it should align itself the way it should.
Parking Slots 3 & 4 are far from the terminal building so I've made those two slots by bus only for boarding and deboarding of the passengers. The Shorts 360 is longer than the 330 and when you are in parking slots 3 & 4 the belt loader gets in the way of the pathway entering the bus, this cannot be helped as GSX is the one handling the pathway from aircraft to passenger bus. Suggestion have been made to the FSDreamTeam that placement of the ground services equipment be done on a custom level for loading and unloading of baggage and of passengers as well. Customized placement of these equipment will help more in knowing where you can place waypoint pathways when deboarding and boarding passengers and when ground services are concluded for either.

INSTRUCTIONAL DOWNLOAD INFORMATION
Thank you for downloading my Leknes Airport Profile for GSX Pro. This Profile was created using Microsoft / Asobo scenery from World Update XV.
To install this GSX Pro Airport Profile into your sim all you need is 7-Zip, WinRar, or any type of zip/unzipping software. Using either 7-Zip or WinRar will decompress the other without any problems. Once the folder is decompressed you can then copy the .ini FILE inside the GSX Pro ENLK Leknes Airport Folder named "enlk-cixjwx.ini" into the folder below:
%Appdata%/virtuali/GSX/MSFS
To access this folder on your computer simply hold down your "Win" key whilst pressing the "R" key on your keyboard. This will bring up a Command Line Run box where you can copy the above underlined text into it. This will open your GSX Pro folder where your DEFAULT Airport Profiles are kept, that's it!
Restart your sim - if you have it open, and once your Flight Simulator is up and running lookup "Leknes Airport or ENLK" in your search box and choose the airport. Now you are ready to activate the GSX Pro profile for this airport.
Once again you can find all my GSX Pro profiles for either Aircraft or Airport below (LINK):
PantherConsult GSX Pro Profiles for Aircraft & Scenery
And as usual, please "Comment", "Rate", and "Like" the profile to show your support and to bring to you this wonderful and immersive GSX Pro ENLK Leknes Airport Profile.
**** SPECIAL ****
In Cooperation with other MOD Creators on FlightSim.to I would like to share a link that SELF-INSTALLS GSX Pro Airport Profiles directly into your "%APPDATA%\Virtuali\GSX\MSFS" Folder. The Application is Called "Drag&Drop Installer for GSX Pro Profiles", this impressive little App will take away any searches or finds that you will have to do to locate the folder necessary to copy your GSX Pro Airport Profiles into. Created by >>Elevate Solutions<<, a collaboration between >>FatGingerHead<< and smatthew. Click >>HERE<< to access the link to the Drag & Drop Installer Application. Please remember that this application ONLY works for GSX Pro Airport Profiles, NOT Aircrafts created with GSX Pro.
*** NOTE: ***
ONLY FOR AIRCRAFT THAT DO NOT HAVE AN EFB TO CONTROL PASSENGER NUMBERS:
One of the things that help with immersion with ALL Simulator Aircraft are the payload settings, for you to get the most PAX on an aircraft when boarding and deboarding you need to set the payload settings in the sim for these aircraft between 30% - 100%. You can save these settings by pressing "Save" and giving it a name or leaving the default name given to the file generated. If not done, the most you will see boarding and deboarding - in most aircraft that do not have an EFB to allow for Passengers, would be approximately 1 - 4 passengers. With this setting set to 100% you will get the max PAX payload that the aircraft can accommodate. REMEMBER to do this, or your simulation immersion will be hindered to the lesser load of the aircraft.
**** IMPORTANT ****
When using this profile please make sure that the nose-wheel of the aircraft is always on top of the Parking Slot "Stop Here" line. If the aircraft is not on that line, then re-position the aircraft so that it is. You can do that by using the GSX Main Menu, choose 0 - Reposition aircraft and then choose 1 - Reposition here at current gate. Also, if that does not work you can always start from the runway and reposition the aircraft from there to the Parking Slot you want to relocate your aircraft to.
**** CONTACTING ME ****
I have been getting a lot of messages sent to me at my upload pages. Grant it, I do look at these pages from time to time but when messages are added at the bottom of the page, I do at times miss them. I do however always have my DM open and look at ALL my messages there, for future messaging to me please use the DM feature to send ALL messages to me, you can use the comment section of the upload page for just that, comments. Any support issues I would like to have them sent to me via DM.
I also have a new site where you can see what I'm working on for both Aircraft Profiles & Airport Profiles at these two locations:
