Krait Squadron - Captured BF-109 G - dB(A) (Flying Iron)
I started my Flight Simulator career back on Air Warrior, released in 1990. I've been flying ever since.
I used to sit on my Dad's knee and fly, until I got my own account and we would fly together. In the same way he brought his daughter into the world of Flight Simming, so has my daughter also caught the bug. It's also the game that got me into Modding. As Krait Squadron were the first to bring out liveries, ground textures, and much more for Air Warrior III.
We were part of Krait Squadron, which spanned from Air Warrior I, II, and III, through to Warbirds, Aces High, Aces High II, and IL-2 Sturmovik. I have since lost contact, however I miss my former wing-colleagues. Flossy, Zeb, Spiff, Cloud, Fidd, RGJ and many more whose callsigns I have forgotten. We were dB(A).
It is a fond part of my Childhood and early teenage years, and Flight Simulation has come such a long way in the last 30 years. What started as blue sky, green ground, and DOS text instruments, is now Fully Fledged Virtual Reality with 3D Depth Perception and High Resolution Graphics.

Hallo Freja,

Awesome! Thanks for doing this! I've been really interested in the Bf-109 as I love Flying Iron's stuff, but having had a number of English and Canadian family members on the receiving end of Axis hardware during WW2, I didn't really want to fly around in period Luftwaffe markings. Was hoping for some captured British/American markings. (I know, long time ago, but lost a great uncle to a Bf-109 shooting down his RCAF Wellington over Egypt.)
Thanks as always for sharing your work! I miss those Air Warrior days on GEnie!
