San José, November 24, 2022. Avianca unveiled the third aircraft that is part of its vintage collection. This time it is an Airbus A320, registration N821AV, which proudly displays the paint that LACSA -Líneas Aéreas Costarricenses Sociedad Anónima- used in the 90s. With this, Avianca continues to honor the legacy and history of Latin American aviation that it carries with it today. and that allows you to project your mission and vision into the future. This aircraft is expected to cover flights to and from Costa Rica in the coming days.
“With this retro plane from Lacsa we celebrate the Costa Rican origins that are part of our operation. We pride ourselves on being important players in connectivity from Costa Rica and taking the Pura Vida that characterizes us so much, beyond our borders, promoting tourism to the country," said Viviana Martin, Manager of Avianca Costa Rica and Director of Inter-institutional Affairs of The airline.
Lacsa was founded in 1945 and 47 years later it became part of Grupo TACA, a company that brought together the main airlines in Central America and which in 2009 merged with Avianca to form one of the Latin American airlines with the greatest connectivity offered in the region. Currently, more than 400 employees of the airline work in Costa Rica, a country from which 68 weekly flights are operated to North, Central and South America, being the largest operator in the Costa Rican Nation.
To successfully capture this image, the work of 30 expert technicians was necessary for 12 days, who have worked in the three retro liveries that the airline has.
