Welcome to MSFS Modern UI Modification
After 6 months of work, I present you today the MSFS Modern UI Modification for FS 2020.
The MSFS Modern UI gives the simulator an even more modern look and also brings a whole bunch of useful changes.
Compatibility
MSFS Modern UI 2.5 is available with the latest Sim-Update 7, both in MS Store - and Steam version and for all language versions.
Let's talk about the changes that the modification brings to you.
Starting the simulation and loading screens
When starting the simulation, after checking for updates, a uniform splash screen is now displayed until the main menu loads. The overlays of the World Updates are no longer displayed.
In the simulator itself, now completely new loading screens are displayed, from modifications of aircraft, which I will publish gradually for you on Flightsim.to.
The redesigned main menu
The core of the modification, is the completely redesigned main menu. Here the display of the graphics was improved or replaced by new ones. But more important is that you can now reach all important settings directly and without detours.
These include the MS Store, the General settings, the Content Manager, the Pilot Profile, the Current Landing Challenge, the Hangar, the Logbook and the Bushtrips - everything is now just a mouse click away.
Of course, you can still use the menu navigation in the upper main menu as usual.
Even more useful changes - here they come
- semi-transparent display for the designation of parking positions, runways, gates etc. on the world map, facilitating the composition of your flights
- larger display of thumbnails for the aircraft liveries in the hanger
- in the MS-Store now 4 items instead of 3 items per line are displayed - a little less scrolling with the mouse necessary :-)
- the toolbar at the top of the screen in the simulator is now also displayed semi-transparent, the annoying activation arrow is completely removed and the response time for showing and hiding the toolbar is significantly reduced
A bonus at the end
And last but not least there is a little bonus for you.
In the weather settings for your flights, I have added 15 new weather presets. From fair weather flights, to icy snow landscapes, to flights through thunderstorm cells, there should be something for everyone.
The weather presets are primarily suitable for VFR flight. Visually, there are still new graphics for the weather in the selection menu to match.

Difference between Full, Lite and VR Version of the mod
At the request of the community, there is now a Full, Lite and VR-Version of the modification.
The lite version has the full functionality, removed were the the new loading screens that are displayed when loading a flight.
The VR version corresponds to the Full version, but without the semi-transparent toolbar, since this causes display errors in the VR version.
Installing the MSFS Modern UI Mod
Note: Please always remove the old version completely from your community directory before installing a new version.
After downloading, first unzip the Zip file.
Follow the instructions in the multilingual Install.txt file included with the download

Working great in my MSFS 2020 SU7 desktop version. Great design and features! Yes, wording should say "Departure is preparing..." or better, what was suggested by gazmac52.
With your talent, I would like to request the option the user being able to see perhaps ten (10) most-recent departure and arrival "HISTORY" of airports, and not so many "RECOMMENDED AIRPORTS". There's a group of simmers who have been requesting this from MS for several years now.

unfortunately are most of the thumbnails in the hangar to big, only part of the objects is visible. In the first edition it was ok.

If I install your VR version of the mod and then try to switch to 2D, I have no toolar at all. Is there a way to activate the toolbar without having to exit MSFS 2020 and reinstall the full version of your mod and restart?

Thanks for your feedback - unfortunately it's difficult to understand the problem you're describing if you don't have access to VR hardware yourself. However, I already have an idea where this might be and will add a fix in the next update.

Thanks for your feedback - in the next update I will add a new, language-neutral loading screen, in the full version, as this is also easier for me than creating a separate one for each language.

I really like this add-in. It does some great stuff.
I do find it irritating though when it says " Departure is prepared...". Please use the correct tense, "Departure is being prepared..." or "Preparing for Departure..." etc.

Just a curious question. Who is the "real" developer of this addon? This main page says "f1pole", but the download page says "Current Version 2.5.0 by Wingman". I did IT Security for over 35 years, and when names on hosted downloads pages and the actual download itself have different author names, it scares the heck outta me. Plus, I never know who to list as the developer in something like the Addon Manager.

Hi guys - everyone please stay calm, this is just a modification.
f1pole is just my login name on flightsim.to and Wingman is my callsign, which I will also use in my other mods for the complete reworks of aircraft.
The reworkings of planes I will also publish here, some screenshots of them are already available as loading screens in this mod.

Thank you for your adult explanation. FWIW, the reason I asked was simply this (although YOUR download doesn't solicit it)...
Many uploaders/developers will have a "request" for a donation (via PayPal, Buy Me A Coffee, etc) along with their downloads. I have encountered numerous times (not on this site yet, but many others) when the "send me a donation" link name does not use the same name as the "by developer" name attached to the download (or at LEAST explain the difference in the two names). There are many documented cases in Internet Security where someone "steals" someone else's product, uploads it as a "free download", then solicits a donation for it. So if the username providing the download and the developer's name attached to the downloaded file are not the same, it MIGHT be a scam in process (and has been in many cases). Again, you aren't asking for donations with this download, so I was NOT accusing you of anything. But it may be something you want to consider if you ever do upload a file that asks for donations. For security educated individuals, it will raise a red flag and even prevent them from donating for a quality product such as yours.

But one thing-pleeeease, coud we get a version without any pictures from you at startup? I know that this has to be in the light-version but I got this picture "Ready for Departure" with the turning cycle also. (Picture is great, but I don´t wonna any picture.)
I loved the version before, where is realy no picture.

Today I installed update 7 for MSFS2020. I moved the contents of my community folder to a temp file including this modern interface. I reinstalled this into my community folder and it shows the modern UI as the FS is booting up. However, the welcome screen in FSFS has resorted back to the original that came with the game. Any suggestions? Thank you so much!

Absolutely brilliant! But in the new UI the "current landing challanges" is grey and can't be selected. Tried both versions, light and normal. What did i do wrong?

Excellent work, really stuff Asobo should have done before launch. My only request would be to give the option to set the grid density (3x3, 5x4 etc) in the aircraft selection/livery selection screens as well as introducing a grid for the Bush Trips etc to replace the current selection screens.
**To add to that: maybe a Favorites icon/menu (similar to Marketplace) for Aircraft Selection.

Amazing – didn’t realise this would be possible. Can I ask, as you have clearly found your way around customising this part of the sim, do you think it’s possible to store favourite aircraft so that the picklist just shows the ones that you like to fly most?

Your new UI is great! Much better than Microsoft. YouDID miss one thing though. The registration on the aircraft flying around Uluru (Ayers Rock) here in Australia. All aircraft have VH as the international registration code for our country. :😉
